Excellent service in a lovely environment! Some how we were the only people in here today but the restaurant itself is pretty large and the decor is lovely. There is even a balcony where people can sit on a second level and look down on all the commotion on a busy day. The sushi bar was in front of an actual bar and there was a large flatscreen tv playing funny things. They also had music. I could just see this place packed and busy at night. It made me sad that there weren't more people in here! The strip mall was kind of blah but there was tons of parking and finding sushi in RI is a bit of a hassle. Our server was so sweet! And they even gave us a complimentary Candy Cane roll that was sweet, unexpected, and reeeeeally nummy! I will definitely stop in here again just for the decor and the service alone!

Please, please, please let this place stay in business. It's pretty hidden in the plaza, but it is so good! The sushi was great, as were the dumplings and other appetizers we tried. The staff was also super friendly. They brought us a free appetizer and a free sushi roll to try. The giant drink scorpion bowl served in a hollowed out watermelon is reason enough to visit. Prices are comparable to other sushi places in the area and there is plenty of parking!

First time eating here. The atmosphere is very nice. Restaurant is very clean and staff is very nice. The sushi is very fresh. There were 4 of us for dinner we had the Goyza appetizer(like a Potsticker),the Angel,Rainbow Roll and Spicy Roll and Chicken Teriyaki. All was very good will come back again

Really great addition to the area! My sister and I stopped in for lunch and were very pleasantly surprised. We each ordered two rolls (2 sweet potato tempura, shrimp tempura and a volcano roll) every thing was fresh and delicious, perfectly cooked and plates very cutely in little flower shapes. We were also given a free roll called a Candy Cane Roll which was very tasty and a lovely surprise. The service was wonderful and very friendly. Portions are perfect and well priced. I look forward to visiting many more times!

I came here because of the terrific reviews on Yelp. I am a sushi lover and while the atmosphere of the restaurant itself is highly appealing and the cocktails reasonably priced, the sushi was mediocre at best. This just isn't authentic Japanese cuisine. My hunch was confirmed when my sushi selections arrived in a plate decorated with maraschino cherries. The cocktail list inside the menu is also a big tip-off. Scorpion Bowls? Singapore Slings? Suffering Bastards? Mai Tai's? When I go for sushi, I like to have the real thing.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in North Providence. The food is delicious. The Atmosphere is very trendy and welcoming. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They have been open for four months and I hope more people visit and keep this gem open.

Place is awesome!! We ordered s boat, and everything on it was great. Sunrise roll, ironman roll, volcano roll and sashimi. All fresh and all tasty, even though it was quiet in there, a lot of takeout orders came in. I just hope it's stays open, even though it's seems to never be busy.

Hidden gem tucked away in a corner of a plaza. Would've never realized it existed had it not been for Yelp. Got some good reviews so decided to get some dinner there one night. I'm a big sushi fan and I've been somewhat disappointed with what Providence in general has to offer. But this place is a cut above the rest. Ambience was nice and very well decorated. For appetizers, we ordered the seaweed salad and avocado Kani salad, which were both very delicious and clearly larger portioned than pretty much all other sushi restaurants I've been to, which is definitely a huge plus. We ordered some sushi and a few rolls which were all excellent. Everything tasted very fresh. Presentation was fantastic. They even offered extra sauce including eel sauce, spicy mayo, and sriracha sauce... which was a first to me since you don't really even think about asking for those sauces on the side. Even got a special roll on the house! Staff was very nice and service was impeccable. Don't have anything negative at all to say about this place. I haven't had the craving to return to any other sushi restaurants here in Providence... until now. I'm already looking forward to eating there again... hopefully very soon!

I poped in for a quick dinner by myself and sat at the sushi bar. The server was very friendly and I talked to her a bit. I didn't realize this restaurant has been open for a year right in my neighborhood! I had a seaweed salad, shrip tempura roll and a rainbow roll. The rolls were good and fresh and I will definitely be back again!

I consider myself a bit of a sushi connoisseur, so for all you that are like me, this review should be helpful. My wife and I walked in and right off the bat felt very comfortable. Dimmed lights, very elegant interior, faint music playing, not too low and not too loud, which we like. Our waitress (server) was very friendly, big smile on her face, and memorized our order which is always impressive. Now on to the food, I always start with the Gyoza appetizer... And it was delicious, delivered nice and hot, The sauce was perfect as well and cake to us in a boat shaped plate with some sort of flower (I am not a flower connoisseur, for the record). For sushi rolls we ordered the "Earthquake" and "Dancing" both of the spicy variety and once again they were delicious, and when I say delicious they were better than expected, very large and very filling, but not too filling where you can't have another, because we certainly weren't done. As we were chowing down, another sweetheart of a server brought us a "candy cane" roll, on-the-house! This is the type of service people dream about. This roll was again, BOMB. We couldn't end there so we decided to order one of the special rolls of the night called "Snow White" which is basically a mix of spicy raw fish deliciousness... I'm actually about to dive into this one as I write this... So give me a second. Wow, this place does not disappoint. Another spectacular roll! I'm tasting this greatness of culinary expertise and wish you were my tongue so you all could taste this... Seriously. Finally... Every roll was a work of art, both visually and by flavor. This place is worthy of this 5 star review, and as you can see by other reviews I am most certainly not being biased. Thank God for sending me here!

Came here on a rainy night. Ordered a few apps. Oysters and a roll. I would stay away from the oysters. I like them small and fresh. These were relatively large. The free roil was whatever... I wish I didnt each it since it just filled my stomach and I was unable to eat the boat! Saki drunk with sushi.. Not a bad night..

Service was excellent and food was great. Really hard working staff that is friendly and attentive! They gave us a chefs special roll to try for free. Definitely recommend to any supporting a friendly small business with great food

Very busy, it looked like every table had just walked in. Fearing a slow service I braced myself. I couldn't have been an happier with the prompt service. Our drinks were understandably a little slow to come out so we were treated to a free sushi roll. And everything was smooth from there. The pork belly appetizers were amazing!! Best pork belly I have had in a while (and I love bacon).

Great new sushi restaurant! They did a phenomenal job designing the interior, it is very nice and clean. The food is also great! All of the rolls we had were delicious. Best sushi in the area by far. If you decide to get a drink, make sure you get a watermelon scorpion bowl, it's awesome.

Great food! We would highly recommend this place. Located in the back corner of a shopping center near the closed Gold's Gym, Osho is hard to see from the street. The restaurant used to be an Italian place, but the place is very clean and inviting. The servers were very friendly and were attentive yet not over-bearing. The first time my husband went, we ordered miso soup, a Boston roll, Philly Roll, tuna roll, and octopus sushi. Everything was fresh and delicious. The miso soup was different than expected in that it was lighter in color, but my husband greatly enjoyed it. The highlight, however, was the Boston roll. The combination of crab, shrimp, avocado, masago, and lettuce was tasty and well-balanced. We both said we would order more Boston rolls next time! In addition, the servers started us off with a complementary cucumber salad that was light and refreshing. Towards the end of the meal, the servers brought out a "candy cane roll" made of white tuna, white fish, crabmeat, and shrimp. We would definitely order that again as well. More recently, I ordered the spicy volcano appetizer and the Boston roll. I highly recommend the spicy volcano! It was very delicious and a different texture than the sushi roll, so it rounded out the meal. We will definitely be back in the future and hope that many more people try this restaurant!

Such an awesome spot! Amazing sushi, great drinks and friendly service! You can't go wrong with any of their sushi/sashimi combinations and they are priced very fairly. They're all under $25, come with soup AND salad, and are comprised of a nice variety of chef's choice sushi/sashimi. Afterwards, you'll be stuffed. But oh man, the specialty rolls are so good too! It's hard to choose. I can't even pinpoint one that was my favorite. They're just all really great flavor combinations. Also, on more than one occasion, they've dropped a roll on the house at the table for us to sample and both times we absolutely loved what they put together. There was one with shrimp tempura and vegetable inside with crab and spicy mayo on top.... yum yum yum. If you ask, they will do any of their cocktails in a pitcher so that you can share with the table. My friends really like the suffering bastard. Very strong, very good. If you didn't notice, I don't have any photos of any of the food.... that's because as soon as they drop the plates, it's in my mouth. THAT good. Next time I will have to slow down and remember! A+ experience all around.

This place looks awesome inside! Very impressed. Very clean. I ordered the lunch box special for take out. Two rolls, soup and salad for $8.95. Not bad! Let me tell you about this salad. BEST dressing I have EVER had. It was like crack. AMAZING. The salad was fresh and delicious. I wanted the cover everything in this dressing, though. The miso soup was delicious as well! Definitely fresh! The sushi was just so/so for me. The spicy tuna roll had zero flavor without wasabi or soy sauce and the candy cane roll was just okay. I will have to try different rolls the next time I come because I won't let those two rolls turn me away when the soup and salad were so awesome. I will be back for sure!!

Osho is definitely a unique sushi place tucked in North Providence, offering some of the more unique sushi (spiderman, superman etc.) that I've seen so far in this Ocean State. However, unique sushi doesn't mean quality fish, which, to Osho's defense, going on a Sunday night is probably the worst time to get fresh fish, as the great Anthony Bourdain wrote in his book, most fresh fish get delivered usually on Mon/Wed/Fri. Anyway, on first impression, Osho was very nicely decorated, with two stories, a chandelier and a colorful menu offering some of the unique sushi plates. The waitress was very nice, although seemed to hurry us for an order within the first 5 minutes of sitting down. For appetizers, my GF and I shared the edamame and grilled octopus. The octupus was really tasty and not too chewy with an excellent sesame based dipping sauce. The edamame was quite tasty as well, softer and more tender than some of their other thawed cousins at other restaurants. The miso soup, unfortunately, was served lukewarm, although tasty, and the house salad was just some ice lettuce with ranch dressing (which was really bad...actually). My girlfriend tried one of the blue fruity mixed drinks and really liked it, as for the name, I'm at a loss. For the main dish, I had the Spiderman Roll, with soft-shelled crab and crab meat and it was quite tasty, although had a weird aftertaste that I could have lived without. My better half ordered the sashimi plate, and while the fish slices were large, and the texture soft, you can definitely tell that the fish had gone past their recommended shelf life, with that lingering fishy aftertaste. Since we had the Yelp app, we even got four pieces of the sugar cane sushi...it was alright (free though!) Overall, this would have been a solid 3-3.5 restaurant, but since my GF really liked it, and the ambiance was really a step above the rest, especially around the area, I decided to opt for the extra star. Food: 3 stars Price: 2-3 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Service: 3 stars

Great place for lunch! The sushi was fresh & the seaweed salad portion was huge! One downside was that the drinks took a while to be made, and my Mojito tasted more like a Magarita. However, the waitress was very kind and checked on us often, without being too overbearing.

My partner and I learned about this place from Yelp. I must say it is one of the best places to get sushi not only in Providence but as well as its surrounding areas! We each ordered a variety of different sushi rolls and the staff even gave us an additional order on the house! Everything was delicious. The wait was a bit long but it was so worth it. We will definitely be going back!

This was our time here (waitress said they opened 3 months ago) and it was such a cute place! They even have a nice spot with outdoor seating. We had 3 different rolls & they even gave us another one on the house! Between the appetizer, dinner & sushi everything was soooooo good! I will for sure be going back again!

We ordered the sushi and sashimi deluxe for two. It came with soup and salad. So we got ONE soup and ONE salad. The waitress didn't even offer us extra bowls to split the soup and salad...we had to ask. On top of that, it took 20+ minutes to even get it. They even tried to give us less sashimi pieces then stated on the menu. We had to ask for more. Sushi was average. Service was poor.

Been wanting to try this place for a while. Been craving sushi lately so we finally came and gave it a try. It's very nice inside at first glance it looks super small but I then noticed they have tables upstairs also. I love the chandelier so pretty! Anyways. The bar is super small but nice. We came on Saturday night and the parking lot was dead. We went inside and there was only one other couple. I give the fact that no one knows about this place the reason why, it's tucked away in the corner in a plaza I don't imagine many people go to. Maybe they need to do some advertising? So the waitress was super nice and attentive. But I mean why wouldn't she be attentive we were the only customers, lol. But yes the service was excellent. We ordered vegetable tempura to start which was very good. And we each ordered a special roll. Mine was the "dancing" which was fried and sounded delicious but I almost think it was too fried I didn't like the texture of the roll, I guess I was expecting it to be different. The flavor was so so also. I definitely wouldn't order again. My husband ordered the special the "iron man" which was very good. They also brought us a small complimentary roll of "candy cane" which was also really good. All in all I would definitely go back I just hope it stays in business!

Best sushi in Providence area. They don't do the typical Asian all-in-one type restaurant - just straight up Japanese. Enjoyed a bottled sparkling sake, imported from Japan. Nice complement to spicy rolls. Service was great. Stacy was very hospitable and sent us treats. We will be back!

Absolutely in love with this place!! Definitely recommend the iron man roll, crazy monkey roll, and dancing roll! Their rolls are exquisite and not like any sushi I've had in RI before. Always great service and the drinks complement the sushi well. Must try if you are in the area :)!!!

Solid sushi spot close to my house. It's soooo nice not having to drive into the city for sushi. I usually end up here for lunch because they have a "lunch box" special until 230 for like $899 or so where you can pick two rolls and it comes with miso soup and a salad... sometimes I like to upgrade to a seaweed salad for a little extra. Most sushi restaurants I've been to with lunch specials will only offer California rolls but I really enjoy being able to pick whatever roll I want (including their special rolls).

Came in on a very snowy night and were treated to a private night in the restaurant. Of course, we felt guilty keeping them open but the staff assured us they would be open anyway and to please stay. Accordingly, the service was excellent. Staff offered recommendations to the menu, which we were gracious to receive after being overwhelmed by the enormity of the menu. Do not hesitate in taking their suggestions. Everything they brought out to us tasted and looked amazing. The prices are entirely reasonable as well. It made me feel a lot less guilty about over-ordering (isn't that always the case at sushi restaurants?). I look forward to my next visit! Sarah

We live right down the street and have only gotten food to go here, but the environment looks very modern and clean; I really enjoy their lighting for some reason, it creates a relaxing ambiance. Anyway, bottom line: the food is delicious and is reasonably priced. I like getting the shrimp teriyaki kitchen dinner, it's well worth the money. You get white rice, soup, and salad along with the entree. Recently they gave us a volcano roll on the house because we spent over $30 and it was scrumptious!! Next time we'll definitely get a side of that. Check them out, I doubt you'll regret it.

Great ambiance and environment. Delicious dumplings and sushi rolls and when they brought us our food they gave us a roll on the house! It's hidden in the corner next to gold's gym but it's totally worth the hunt to find it.

This place is a hidden little gem. It sits in the back corner of a strip mall, so it's almost impossible to see from the road, but reading the reviews I thought I'd try it out, and wasn't disappointed. The service was friendly and attentive, and they gave us some small treats on the house, which always makes a visit feel more fun and appreciated. The melon bowl was delicious, and one lasted the whole meal for two people. The sushi was fresh and well prepared, and the server knew the menu well and steered us towards what she thought we'd like based on our questions. The prices were about what you'd expect for a nice sushi bar, but not too expensive. If I'm in the area I'll definitely be going back!

  • Jenica S.

My husband and I decided to check this place out based on the fantastic reviews. I now feel obligated to share my experience because the food was really quite terrible! As some reviewers have noted, the sushi is not authentic, which I was prepared for going in. The lack of authenticity therefore wasn't the problem for me; my problem was that the food was bad. We shared a plate of gyoza to start. They were decent, but clearly came from a frozen package. My husband ordered several specialty roles and I got a sashimi plate. His specialty roles were really very gross! The flavor combination was unique, but not palatable. I thought I had played it safe with the sashimi, but the fish was not good quality at all. Neither of us could finish our meals. My sashimi platter came with a soup and salad. The soup was okay--a typical miso. The salad was iceberg dressed in a spicy, nontraditional dressing. Neither of us could eat it because it was disgusting. The ambiance was not my style; dark with flashing colored lights and loud pop music. I recognize, though, that this might suit some people's taste. The service was friendly and nice, which is why I didn't give one star. They brought over free ice cream when it was clear we had not enjoyed our meals.

Place was clean. Food was excellent. Service was good. Sushi was delicious and there were a lot of options to chose from. Drinks were good too, and you definitely get what you pay for. The location is hidden away, but it is definitely a hidden gem.

  • Kevin M.

We didnt know the place existed until we found it on yelp and saw the reviews but we went to check it out. It was completely empty at 6 pm on a saturday which was peculiar but my wife and I enjoyed having the place to ourselves. Not surprisingly, the service and speed were excellent! We shared a scorpion bowl that was quite tasty and we enjoyed the nice wasabi infused cucumber salad. We ate pretty light and ordered only a couple of rolls. So many specialty rolls sounded so good it was hard to pick. We ended up with the candycane roll and I cant remember the other one. They were fantastic. We consider ourselves sushi people and these rolls were right up there with some of the best we have had in the area. This place was getting 5 stars even before the server brought out another roll which was on the house, and delicious!!! I hope Osho does well. We will be back.

Great fresh sushi, attentive staff, and we even got a free (Ironman) roll on the house. We ordered a salmon feast and a sushi and sashimi regular and both were delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely a hidden gem in Rhode Island, where great and affordable sushi is sometimes hard to come by.

I really love this place! It's super cute inside and feels very clean which is important especially when your talking sushi. I've had the same waitress every time which isn't a problem because she's adorable and super sweet! The sushi is fresh and prices are good for the quality. What I love the most is that she always brings a small FREE roll for us to try... And they're always so yummy! Try the iron man roll it's delish! I really hope this place does well, they are kind of tucked away in the corner so I don't think they get much exposure.. Hopefully yelp helps gets the word out :)

Me and my wife frequent a lot of Japanese cuisine so here is our review! We started off with the watermelon bowl. That was excellent we loved it! Ordered some oysters but wasn't feeling it at all they were too big In My opinion. Ordered the Spider-Man roll but didn't get it. They gave us cucumber salad and a candy cane roll on the house. They were good actually! My wife order a steak teriyaki dinner and I ordered the salmon teriyaki dinner. It came w/ a soup and salad. The salad dressing was ok. The miso soup was good! The teriyaki sauce for the dinner was too sweet and thick and goopy!!! The service was excellent except for forgetting our spider man roll.. All in all I had better. Would only recommend this spot for drinks!!

The sushi rolls are excellent and fresh. The staff is very polite and professional. The environment and decor is warm and welcoming. The server was very attentive to our orders and we got a complementary roll on the house. This is a new place and they definitely deserve more customers. Bring your friends and family if you appreciate good sushi.

Love this new discovery. I have been looking for a new goto sushi spot and I think this place may fit the bill. The decor of this restaurant is very fresh. The place was spotless including the bathroom (which is a pet peeve of mine). The service was attentive and pleasant. The sushi was fresh and well prepared. The chef prepared us a complimentary roll which was a nice touch. This place is kind of tucked away so I hope that doesn't hurt the business... time will tell. Will be going back soon.

Tried out this spot tonight based on prior yelp reviews. It's conveniently located in the Golds Gym Plaza on the corner right next to the gym. It is very clean and we were immediately approached by friendly staff and smiling faces. Ordered a Maui punch to drink which was made perfect. For sushi we got the OSHA special and a few basic ones, all were excellent. They also brought us a roll on the house (candy cane roll) also excellent. We will definitely be back

Awesome new sushi bar. The sushi was really great and the atmosphere was very clean, modern, and spacious. The watermelon bowel drink was very tasty also and love the vodka gummy bears. Great service and very friendly. Definitely going again and would recommend it to anyone that loves sushi, good drinks, and good food.

Absolutely delicious food! The sushi is mouthwatering, fresh, and just phenomenal. Even the crab Rangoon is great. Love the osho salad dressing. The restaurant is adorable, and they also have a full bar. The owner is very sweet and attentive. Tonight they gave us a volcano roll on the house. Just an overall amazing place to go. I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed!!

Oh, Yelpsters, I love you all. I love that you made me aware of this super incredible awesome sushi restuarant that also happens to be near my house. After reading and drooling over all the positive reviews, I stopped in for takeout. The restaurant was empty (but it was only 5:15, so there's probably not a lot of early bird sushi patrons)but stepping inside, the decor is lovely, and not at all what you expect from a strip mall. Seemed like a nice date location, if you are the type of person that goes on dates. The hostess was friendly and very helpful, suggesting some rolls for me to try. I ordered the Iron Man, the Snow White, and a roll I can't remember...something that starts with a "P" and ended in DELICIOUS. Also ordered some steak hibatchi for the husband and some dumplings for the boy...both were very well received. The hostess added an order of the Volcano roll on the house, which had a ton of crunchy spicy goodness. Once I got home with my absurdly large order (I always over order sushi...who doesn't like a little variety?), I nibbled on the dumplings and waited for the kids to go to bed...and then had an insanely blissful night eating all that sushi in front of the television. Absolutely some of the best sushi I have ever had, delightful combinations, and can tell with every bite that it is all super fresh. But the very best part was watching the sushi chef assemble the rolls. I watched while he carefully rolled and sliced, and artfully added all of those super yummy sauces. He took his time, which I appreciated, and the final presentation, even in the take out containers, was beautiful. I have a feeling I will be making many stops at Osho in the near future, with more joyfull moments of feasting on sushi in a dark and quiet living room while the kids sleep soundly, unaware of the fact that I will be spending their college fund on takeout.

Jackie's has some competition! Hubby and I stopped in to the Village at Fruit Hill plaza and noticed this new restaurant in the back corner. The advertising kinda sucks, you'd never know it was there; but it sure is a hidden gem! We had the rainbow roll, a Christmas roll, spicy tuna and spicy yellow tail - all amazingly delicious! They also threw in some additional treats on the house - super yummy. The restaurant itself has nice ambiance, very updated bar. If you're looking to check out some new sushi restaurants, def give this one a try. You won't be sorry!

I've never had an overly sweet dragon roll until ordering one from here. I was disappointed by the taste of the Dragon roll. The spiderman roll was good. The ichiban roll was OK. Overall everything looked good, but the taste was lacking in most of the items I ordered. If you usually like dragon rolls don't order it from here. They gave us a potato roll on the house, so I rated this 3 instead of 2 stars.

Osho is a renovated mid-sized restaurant and is tucked away in the far corner off of the Smith Street plaza. Osho offers some pretty delicious sushi at reasonable prices. Which for North Providence, is pretty rare to get. I have come by twice during lunch time at non-peak hours and have received great recommendations and service while I was there. The food is pretty good and they often offer up new specials to try. The sushi isn't classified as "out of this world" but it definitely ranges pretty high with it's elaborate sauces and eye-pleasing plating. For the North Providence area, I would recommend this sushi spot as a solid go-to.

Popped in for a light lunch. Excellent sushi lunch special. Miso soup was way up there with the best I've ever had. The special came with 6 sashimi and a California roll. Super fresh and satisfying. UPDATE: A few days later, my wife picked up some sushi takeout and we absolutely loved it. Because we ordered more that 30 dollars worth of food, they threw in a sushi app that turned out to be the highlight of the meal. She was very impressed with the inside of the restaurant and she loved the one drink that she had at the bar.

Had sushi here and did not think it was good. While fish was fresh the rice did not taste good. And their wasabi was not good at all.
